When you want to make money from affiliate marketing you can quite easily to do so by being an affiliate of someone else’s product. It is definitely easier to start marketing a product that is already existing than to begin a process of building your own product. Which is more profitable? I can’t say, since both ways have their advantages.
Accountability Journal:
I have 2 affiliate products on my Candida Blog. And now I have made my first sale of an ebook that I am an affiliate for. I know exactly what actions resulted this sale! This is great because now I know which marketing efforts to concentrate on in the future.
I searched for forums that are talking about my topic, found 2 forums for now. Then I started posting my comments on them. I concentrated on one of them that seemed to have more active readers. I think I posted about 9 comments during one week. The point in this is that you have to have a good signature linking to your blog. I made a signature that has both my blog and a direct affiliate link to the product on it. Commenting on forums works best if you can get comments going back and forth to begin a conversation. This way you get more links pointing to your blog and it makes other people reading the comments to get to recognize your username. It is of course important that you have good points to make and valuable information that help others. This will make you kind of an expert on your field.
Second success that I had this past month is that I offered one business to advertise on my blog. And now it seems that they actually want to place a banner on it and pay a monthly fee for it too! I’ll report more on this later.
What comes to writing new blog posts, I have to admit that I only wrote one since my last journal update. I had too many other things to take care of during the last couple of weeks. And this last post needed quite a lot of research.
Planning:
-The squidoo lens is still waiting to be done. My goal is to start one up by the end of November.
-Next week I will comment more on forums and see if there are any other forums that would suit to my niche.
-Writing blog posts will be a constant thing, 1 – 2 per week. I have started a google document to write all ideas for blog posts when I get them.
-Also I’ve made a list of other bloggers who write about Candida and health issues. This I will use when I start contacting some for visiting blog articles or interviews.

How To Use An Accountability Blog?
Accountability is often the only thing that separates a successful project from a failure. That is just the case because we are all human. And humans tend to take the easy way where ever they can.
Being accountable for your actions and non-actions keeps you focused and you are more likely to succeed. It is a good idea to record what you have done during the week on every Friday. What actions have been taken, which jobs that have been finished and what has been the outcome?
The other important part of accountability is planning. It is crucial to plan the actions for the following week. This can be done either on the last day of the week or in the beginning of the working week.
This blog will record my work on my Million Dollar Blog project: How I Cured My Candida health blog.
This week is the beginning of the project and I have registered for it in ThinkTraffic site: profile.
Progress This Week
- I have made 1 blog post and updated one of the static pages.
- My next course of action is to get lots of traffic to the blog and I have found a forum where people interested in this topic are actively discussing. I have posted 5 times with my blog in the signature on this forum this week.
- I also use twitter and have made 3 tweets to draw people to my blog or to the affiliate product I have signed up with.
Planning For Next Week
- Write one blog post and update one page.
- Reply to other posts on the forum.
- Search for new forums or places where people could be interested in my topic.
- Plan a new Squidoo lens on candida topic.
This should be a good beginning and I will be updating here as soon as I learn new tricks to get more traffic!

My Million Dollar Blog Project
I have come across a very interesting project: Million Dollar Blog Project. This is a new project started by guys at ThinkTraffic.com. And this blonde wants to take part in it! I love blogging anyway and if I could get my income from it, that would be sweet!
The rule in taking part in this project is to start a new blog with a topic that is not about making money. It should be about something that you are interested in since you will be writing a lot of posts on it. I have only recently started a blog about health issues, specifically about Candida.

Many traditional businesses as well as online businesses are getting more savvy about social media. They have Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, they are represented in LinkedIn and YouTube. This is all good and gets businesses more traffic.
But how to make those visitors into customers?
It is still more personal to receive an email or newsletter from a business than just to click the Like -button on Facebook. Newsletter keeps receivers up to date with what’s happening in the company that they had enough interest to Like on Facebook. Therefore it should be an important goal for a company to convert social media followers into email subscribers.
Growing Your List: Opt-in Box On Your Facebook Page
A great way to make those Facebook fans into newsletter subscribers is to have an opt-in box on the company Facebook page. Many email service providers already offer widgets to integrate the opt-in box on Facebook. I know that at least Mailchimp and Aweber have that technology.
Offering an incentive to subscribe to a newsletter makes it even more enticing to a fan. Give a report or ebook or even a discount coupon and you’ll be getting a lot more newsletter subscribers than before!

Email marketing is a good and affordable way but before you can really take advantage of it you need a list. Most beginning businesses don’t have unlimited resources either, so what would be a low-cost way to build a list fast?

You can place an ad on eBay for free or with a small cost and the best way to make sure you catch the visitors’ emails is to place an optin box in the ad body. This is easily done by getting the HTML code for an optin box from your email service provider, such as Mailchimp, and pasting it to your eBay ad body in HTML form.
Hey, if a blonde like me could do it, you can do it too!
People who open your ad on eBay are already interested in your product, but may not be ready to purchase yet. It is plain good business sense to offer them an opportunity to leave their details for you to offer your product later on again. They are more likely to give their emails if you offer them something enticing for free, like a report or sample of your product. There you go, in a week or 30 days you’ll have many new contacts, thanks to your eBay ad and the optin box in it!

The Clickbank Experience
Some may wonder what is Clickbank and I will explain it soon. But this article is about my experience with Clickbank; how it benefits you and how it makes you wonder and sometimes curse.
ClickBank is a trusted and secure online retailer for more than 50,000 digitally delivered products, such as ebooks and downloadable software. It has more than 100,000 active affiliate marketers who promote the products and get paid a commission up to 75% of the price of the product.
Clickbank is ranked as one of the most highly-trafficked sites on the web and it makes a sale somewhere in the world every three seconds! This means they process more than 35,000 digital transactions a day.
I first found Clickbank about 3 years ago and I started out as a vendor. I had an ebook that I wanted to sell online. Basically it was quite easy to follow the instructions on Clickbank website: open an account as a vendor, which costs around $50 – one time payment, and add products, upload images and create a vendor spotlight for yourself. This makes it easier for prospective affiliates to consider your product for promoting. It is also important to have a good resource page for affiliates. This was all pretty straight forward. There were a few times when Clickbank wanted more information concerning copyrights since the products have to be yours to sell or at least have resale rights to them. The communication went smoothly, comments back and forth once a day – usually they answered to my question or comment during my night and vice versa.
Only things that I wasn’t happy was that when they initially start paying for your sales, they use checks, and that costs if you are not using same currency. But that hassle with banking checks passes after 2 checks, because then you can apply for direct deposit to your bank account. And Clickbank pays on time every fortnight if the initial $100 treshold has been reached.
I have also promoted other products as an affiliate, but that hasn’t been so profitable for me yet. It is important to find a good converting product and be consistent in promoting. I didn’t use much time for it so my results haven’t been that good.
The second ebook that I have on sale through Clickbank is the Facebook Advertising Guide.
There we had a little more problems to get it approved, since Clickbank can’t accept products with main domain names that have a brand name in them. We had to change the domain name of our sales letter. This is quite silly because the name of the product is fine, even though it definitely is a famous brand name.
This book is going to get lots of attention and affiliates will have a great time promoting this no hype, all facts and clear step-by-step directions containing Facebook Advertising Guide.
